You only have to take the time to sit down and read your guestbook entries to see how many lives you have touched, the countless number of people who have been able to re-connect with friends from their past (myself included) because of your efforts. I doubt if you truly realize the value and importance of what you are doing by maintaining this wonderful site.

If all the former WV citizens were to return to their beloved home state, I doubt if there would be room for all of them. You have reached deep into our past and dredged up memories that are priceless and that have caused many a nostalgic tear to be shed as well as a lump in many throats of those of us who miss our beloved home so much.

MY WEST VIRGINIA HOME

There's a humble little cottage in the hills of West Virginia
Where I spent so many happy childhood hours;
Playing in the shady woodland and by the rippling river,
And searching for the lovely wildwood flowers.

REFRAIN

That's where I left my mother, Dad and all the others
When I took the foolish notion to roam:
Now that I'm tired of ramblin', I guess I will be amblin'
Back to my West Virginia home.

How I long to see the mountains and hills of West Virginia
And the cottage that was home sweet home to me:
My Mom has been a-prayin' that I would quit my strayin'
And that's the way it soon will be......

The hills of home are calling; Mom's tears have been a-fallin'
As they did when I started out to roam;
I want to see her smile beginnin'; Dad standin' there a-grinnin'
Back in my West Virginia home.
